Coils

The effective pulsed electromagnetic field energy for this PEMF cylinder coil is mostly local and inside the cylinder and its efficacy hardly extends outside the cylinder itself. The treatment is localized to the area where the coil is located and such a system is not suitable for whole body therapy.

The patient needs to be inside the cylinder, which is often a cumbersome process, especially for elderly people.

The body cylinder was developed decades ago and was the only solution to generate sufficient magnetic field energy in order to be effective since the electronics available during the 80's were unable to drive sufficient energy into surface coils. These types of cylinders have become obsolete and are still sold only in combination with obsolete PEMF devices.

The energy of the surface coil at the right side extends evenly over the surface, even in case multiple coils are arranged inside a flat pad or mattress applicator. In addition the electromagnetic fields extend over a larger area.

The PEMF device should of course be able to drive all the coils at the same time, but some manufacturers drive multiple coils in their large mat only one after the other. This results in an actual average emitted electromagnetic energy, being much lower than rated in their specifications: e.g. if there are a total of 8 coils in the mat this leaves only 12.5% of the rated energy output, or alternatively only during 12.5% of the total therapy time each coil actually works with the rated energy level!

Again, other manufacturers use only one large coil in their full body mat, which is actually a long wire surrounding the mat. No difficult mathematical formulas are needed to show that the electromagnetic field in such a mat is a complete joke: it is impossible to come close to an evenly spread magnetic energy field over the full surface of such a mat!

The electromagnetic field generators for all the Curatron systems (home and professional units) are designed to drive all the coils in the mats all at the same time during the complete therapy session. The coils in the mattress are placed in such a way that the magnetic field is evenly spread out, as far as this is mathematically possible.

In addition there are very efficient high energy coils available for localized therapy, e.g. spine & hips or for hand, elbow & feet. The very high energy coil generates in combination with the Curatron PC system up-to 100 milli Tesla and has e.g. excellent knee pain relief for osteoarthritis because it actually regenerates cartilage!
